NCKU Institute of Gerontology Visits NHRI and Douliu Branch to Strengthen Collaboration in Aging and Long-Term Care

On August 10, the Institute of Gerontology, College of Medicine, National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), organized a visit to the National Health Research Institutes (NHRI) Center for Geriatrics and Gerontology and the NCKU Hospital Douliu Branch. Faculty members joined the visit to exchange ideas through research presentations, professional discussions, and on-site visits, gaining a deeper understanding of aging health, long-term care, and community-based healthcare services.

At NHRI, the delegation learned about research on healthy aging, interdisciplinary talent development, community integration, and smart healthcare technologies. At the Douliu Branch, the team explored practical experiences in geriatric care, dementia services, post-acute care, and healthcare delivery in rural areas.

The visit focused on potential collaboration in student internships, research, teaching, and talent development. NCKU Institute of Gerontology looks forward to building on this exchange and developing long-term partnerships with both institutions to advance interdisciplinary education and professional training in gerontology and aging services.
